Traveling to Barbados

Going to Barbados for vacation is going to be a blast! I cant wait to get there and see the beautiful island with my own two eyes. To get into Barbados I have to make sure I have my passport and proof of my anticipated departure from Barbados. I wont need a Visa as Visa's are not required for stays up to 6 months. I was able to find a round trip flight on American Airlines from March 15th to March 21st for $518. Flight is definitely my favorite form of travel. Feeling like a bird flying above the clouds and seeing the vastness of our world is sureal. My flight will leave at Atlanta at 3:18PM on the 15th and my expected arrival time in Barbados is 12:16AM. I was able to find a nice hotel the Swwtfield Manor Boutique Hotel in Bridgetown Barbados. It's $96 per night so for my six night stay it will ad up to $576. Barbados has so many ammazing places to go see it was hard to nail down a few to go see. The first place I would love to go see is St.Nicholas Abbey in Saint Peter. St.Nichloas Abbey is a beautiful plantation, museum, and rum distillery. It was built by Colonel Benjiman Berringer in 1658 and is one of only three jacobean mansions in the entire wester hemisphere. Jacobean is the second phase of Renissance architecture in England in the 1600's. The next place I would love to go see is the Andromeda Botanic Gardens in the village of Bathesba. Not only are the gardens full of possesing vegetation but also contains an illustrious history. The gardens were created in 1954 by Iris Bannochie, a female Barbadian and self taught scientist. The garden began as a private plant collection around Bannochie residance but grew into a beachhead for greenery into Barbados. Iris Bannochies gardens are responsible for introducing over 80% of the ornamental plants in Barbados. If I like my houses flowers look nice in spring I cant imagine what effect Mrs.Bannochies gardens will have on me. Next I would like to visit St.James Parish Chruch in Holetown St.James. The church stands on one of the oldest parcels of consecrated land on the island. This land is known as God's Acre. The chruch had a humble beginning starting as a wooden shack in 1628. After a hurricane decimated the building in 1675 a new stone structure was erected to take its place. It lasted nearly two centuries until its stared to decay. In 1874 a new building was constructed and is still the majority of the same building holding services today. While in Barbados I would love to get rid of my farmers tan. Carlise Bay is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Barbados. Not only is it filled with crystal clear waters great for swmming and snorkling but is filled with relics from a by gone era. The bay is filled with cannons and old ships bringing you back to the days of Black Beard. As a history buff being able to put myself in the shoes of our ancestors there arent many feelings that are interchangeable. While at the beach I would love to take picture. I love photographing, especially when it comes to wildlife. One of Barbados's hidden gems is the George Washington House. The George Washington House is where a 19 year old George Washington stayed in 1751 while accompanying his brother Lawrence Washington. The house now stands as a beacon of friendship between Barbados and the United States. One last thing I would love to do before leaving Barbados is stop by the Holders House Farmers Market. I love going to the farmers market back home so I would love to see the food and items people are selling. Overall the trip isnt very expensive in total including the price of admissions at some tourist destinations the trip will cost $1159.07. A small price to pay for evelasting memories.

  1. By reading this page, I am very interested in Barbarados because I never knew that there would be so much to do there! I don't really have much to say about this from aside that I really liked when you explained George washingtons house in Barbarados when he was 19 years old.
